Chimneys of Marvin Swim Team

Hello Makos Families! My name is Ali Zegar, and I am excited to be returning as the Makos Head Coach for the upcoming 2026 season!

This will be my fourth summer as Head Coach, and our family’s fifth summer being a part of the team. It’s an amazing group of coaches and families that come together and have a blast! It is the best way to kick off the summer and the pool season. We moved to the Chimneys of Marvin in 2021 with our two kids Ava (10) & Jack (7). We absolutely love it here!

A little bit about me- I was born in Canada but raised in the suburbs of Chicago and I grew up in the pool! I started swim team year round when I was in elementary school, and continued into high school where I also played on our varsity water polo team. I was a lifeguard all through high school and college, coaching the club swim team where I worked. Being in the pool has always been one of my greatest joys and I can’t wait to share that with your kids!

Coach Ali 

My name is Coach Zach and I have been coaching Makos for 5 years, but I have been on the team for 12. I have loved each season that I have been a part of the team! Coaching for the team has been great, watching kids progress with their skills makes me extremely happy and proud. I hope to coach on the Makos for as long as I can!!!

Hi I'm Coach Kelly! I have been swimming for 12 years, and this will be my third year coaching. I love getting to share my love of swimming with other young swimmers, and I can't wait to spend this summer with the team! The Makos team is the first team I ever swam for, and I am so happy to still have the opportunity to be involved!

Hi I am Coach Jack, I am very excited to be an assistant coach for the Makos this year. I have been a member of this team for 10 years and was also a competitive swimmer for 8 years. I’m looking forward to spending more time with the team and getting to know everybody better. I can’t wait to help people enjoy swimming with the Makos even more this summer!

Hi, I’m Coach Georgia! I have been swimming for 11 years and I am so happy to say this is my second year coaching! I love being with the kids and helping them grow their love for swimming. I have always looked up to my coaches and I am honored that now I get to be a role model.

I can’t wait to spend another summer with the team and make so many memories! Go Makos!

Hi, I’m Coach Avi! I have been swimming for 10 years and have proudly been a member of the Makos team for the past 8 years. This is my second year coaching, and I’m excited to give back to the team that has helped me grow as a swimmer. My favorite stroke is breaststroke, and I enjoy helping swimmers develop their technique, become faster, and gain confidence in the water. Watching kids improve and build their love for swimming is one of the most rewarding parts of coaching, and I’m honored to serve as a role model for our swimmers. I can’t wait to coach everyone this season and make great memories together. Go Makos!

HI, I'm Coach Ishaan, this will be my 11th year swimming with the Makos and first year coaching! I am excited to get to know all the swimmers more this year and share my experience with them. I have enjoyed my time swimming and want to share that with with all the young swimmers. I am excited to be coaching this season, and I hope we have a great year!
